His nickname is Street Guy. For over ten years, he has moved about on his hands and knees, literally on the street. Why? After having a seizure and falling into a fire, his legs were badly scarred into a bent position so that he could no longer stand erect.
Last December, his scars were released, and now he stands upright. Last month, his spiritual scars were released, and now he stands as a brother.
The Canadian plastic surgery team who performed the first surgery on Street Guy has returned. They will be doing a follow-up surgery on Street Guy as well as on 30+ other patients. The Project Grace clinic corridors are now lined with burn patients who have come from all over the province. They hope these foreign doctors can ease the physical and emotional scars that they have carried for years.
Please remember the patients, doctors, and staff over the next two weeks as we coordinate non-stop surgeries and post-operative care.
Finally, just to let you know that baby Elizabeth Mui is doing very well. She is out of the hospital and is feeding on her own. Thank you for remembering her.
